This catalogue was published to accompany the third temporary exhibition “Japanese Connections: The Birth of Modern Décor” at Louvre Abu Dhabi chronicling the influence of Ukiyo-e, Japanese woodblock techniques and painting, on Western art at the turn of the 20th century. This theme, never before the subject of an exhibition, demonstrates the fundamental contribution made by the Far Eastern aesthetic to the development of modern décor.
